We, the undersigned artists declare:

By virtue of our own work and the work of an increasing number of other artists, the evolution of our mass consciousness, and recent technological innovations, the historical time has arrived to declare the existence of a new school form of art. We call it Art KOU KOU.

• Every reality is subject to multiple interpretations. There are multiple truths, each valid in its own frame of reference



• Encouragement of pluralism in the interpretation of reality is central to individual freedom and the functioning of a democratic society.



• The basic role of the artist is to reveal alternative facets of reality, alternative truths, each valid in its own alternate universe viewpoint. There are multiple realities to something so simple as an image.



• Art KOU KOU is an art form appropriate to these times when the real and the virtual increasingly blend into each other.



• We, KOU KOU artists, are committed to bring forward in our art selective alternative representations of reality to represent its alternative planes. Commensurate with current mathematics, we refer to the process as re-fractalization of reality.



• Pursuant to our individual styles we will draw on the full range of traditional and new image technologies in making our Art KOU KOU. We may or may not base our work on photographs. We may or may not use oil or other paints,pencils and crayons, silk-screening and other traditional graphic art techniques, scisors-and-paste collaging, xerography, photo-labs, lasers, optical processing setups, computers with image software of all kinds, fractal and other mathematical processing algorithms, digital cameras, scanners, digital printers and projectors, --- etc.



• What defines us is not a particular technique but our philosophy and our willingness to cross freely among traditional and new media to achieve them. Many of us are primarily digital artists. We are also more than that. We are KOU KOU artists.
